The frilliest bodice in the world is now complete! The lighting in these photos is really weird and doesn’t do the piece justice, but at least you can see how it fits!
Oh boy am I glad this fits. I didn’t do any test fittings along the way so this is pretty much a miracle. I can’t even tell you how relieved I was when it laced completely closed (the lacing is sloppy af in the back shot, i’m aware. I’ll fix that when I wear it for more than test shots)
The bodice is made from interfaced cotton sateen. It’s covered with fussy cut lace appliques, tulle, chantilly lace, alencon lace trim, mesh trim, beads, sequins, and some other stuff. Pretty much all the lacy sparkly things in the world have gone into this.
I really love how it turned out. This dress is a dream project for me so I was worried it wouldn’t meet my expectations. But so far it has! And i’m keeping my fingers crossed that the skirt will turn out just as well.
